What Is Massage Therapy?
Massage Therapy is a comprehensive intervention that involves a variety of techniques to manipulate the soft tissues and associated structures of the body in order to prevent and relieve pain and restore function. It will assist with pain relief, strengthen your immune system, enhance the circulation of blood and lymphatic systems, decrease risk of injury, help with anxiety and depression, and reduce stress and headaches.
We provide massage treatments such as Swedish massage, Deep Tissue massage, Trigger Point therapy, Myofascial release, and Sports and Relaxation massages. All massage therapies are performed by our Registered Massage Therapists.
Our Registered Massage Therapists focus on trigger points, tightness and the overall movement patterns of the body. With experience in pre and post-natal massage and rehabilitative injury care, they are available to treat a multitude of problems.
Swedish massage consists of long and gliding strokes along the entire body. This type of massage provides comfort and pain relief for the whole body.
Trigger Point therapy
Knots" or sensitive spots in soft tissue are a source of discomfort for many people. Trigger Point Therapy put pressure on these spots providing great relief.
Myofascial Release Therapy (MRT) is a highly specialized stretching technique that is applied to patients with various soft tissue issues. MRT releases tightness and stretching the fascia of the muscles.
Deep Tissue Massage
This technique provides pain relief from stiff muscles and chronic pain. Deep tissue massage applies firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia.
Sports massage can help improve performance and prevent injury. It can also help the body recover fast and more effectively from injuries sustained during exercise.
Registered Massage Therapy may be available to you through your Extended Health Care plan and Workplace insurance.
It may also be covered under your Auto Insurance claim. Please cheque the details of your health coverage plan, as some insurance plans require doctor’s referral for massage therapy.
